On September 17, the Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui-UMC had the pleasure to receive the historical visit of the World Health Organization (WHO) delegation headed by Dr. Tedros Gheberysous - WHO Director-General, along with Dr. Al Mandhari - WHO Regional Director, Dr. Rana Hajjeh, Dr. Iman Shankiti, Dr. Alissar Rady and the regional and local members of the organization.

Dr. Tedros was welcomed by the General Directors Sister Hadia Abi-Chebli and Professor Pierre Yared as well as the directors and representatives of the hospital departments. 

After touring some of the main centers of the hospital (ICU, Vaccination Center, Burn Center, Emergency, etc..) the delegation participated in an open meeting and discussion with the hospital's team about the current situation and issues prevailing in the health sector, stressing on the challenges of the present time and looking forward to developing further collaboration with WHO as Dr. Tedros expressed his empathy to the resilience, commitment and compassionate care of the LHG-UMC team, against all odds.

At the end, the General Directors Sister Hadia Abi-Chebli and Professor Pierre Yared thanked the World Health Organization for visiting the hospital.
